Where do i start to learn web design?

Well, I’m 21 and im trying to figure out what to do with myself for later on career wise. I do love to be on the computer a lot and web design sounds interesting to me. Where should i start though? I dont even know what is used to make a website!
Anyone know of some free online guides/tutorials etc etc I could use?
any help would be appreciated!

    an easy way to see how to start with web design is to watch some video tutorials on it. that way you can actually see what it takes to design a website. check out http://www.webnoobie.com. they offer free video tutorials on web design and the software you need.

    this site right here will help a lot if you wanna learn about web design and coding. If you’re really serious about it though I would recommend going to school for it.
