my leader made a website in joomla, how can i get an html code to work here? joomla doesnt seem to work with much. all help is appreciated

Question about joomla…?
If joomla makes it so much easier for people to make websites with little or basic knowledge of coding, why dont web design companies use it? (with the exception of the ones that do use it)

1.) What version should I download?
2.) Do I need a domian name registered to install it? I’ve been told that I need to download it to a database but I don’t exactly know how to do that.
3.) Do you recommend and Joomla resources for newbies like me to learn how to design web sites with it?

Does anyone know of a joomla extension for a question based component?
I am looking for an extension that is very similar to yahoo answers. It allows a certain group of members to ask questions and bid on them and another exclusive group of members to answer those questions and receive the money for them.
So I need to be able to give different members different abilities and it needs an e-commerce type feature.
