Can anyone tell me if the PHP script from DZOIC's handshake is a good community software?

I want to build a community website, came across this company DZOIC, their product "Handshake v3.2" Everything looks good and everything is customizable. I was wondering if this software is really worth the price and good to edit to what I want the site functions to be. your answers is greatly appreciated.

    in all honesty, i didn’t like the layout nor the functionality.

    and if you’re interested in SNS sites, you really need to do the research. Its very hard to get off the ground, since now you are competing with mypsace, facebook and friendster. In fact, current trends show that many other SNS sites are having a hard time keeping up with myspace, since it was purchased out by FOX a year ago.

    Do you plan on making moeny from this site? Then you’ll have a hard time attracting advertisers.
