Islam means “submission to Allah”. Not “peace”.

Question: people say the burka or covering that women wear is to hide their physical body and hair so that they aren’t judged by their physical looks. Is that correct?
If so, then why are most female muslim reporters so attractive? Why aren’t there (m)any ugly female muslim reporters on TV?
It’s a very general question, but I’d like to hear someone’s answer.
don’t mix arabs with muslims !! and don’t mix the rules of islam and their application by “muslims”.
some muslims are still seeking for the conviction to apply some rules. that doesn’t mean they don’t believe in it. it is just that as every choice in life, it needs conviction and courage.
I could say they are just still confused or not well informed. may god help them and help us all.
(this is just a point of view you should ask someone who knows really about fiq’h and principles of islam)
Islam indeed means submission to allah because one of the origin of the word is istisslam which means submission. but the other origin of the word is salam which means peace.

2ndly, we are all born differently so each of us have different challenges in life..if a girl is born ugly, den it is her challenge in life to live wif her ugliness..if the gal is pretty, it is her challenge to deal wif her beauty..
the prettier u are, the more responsibilities ure gonna have..same as the more richer u are, the more responsibilities u have..
You should learn & undrestand about getting several wives in Islam before commenting. You are comenting with out knowing the reality. There are many women who are converting to Islam, so are they waiting to get married to man & that man will get many wives. THE media blow up your minnds away from the truth.

True. Yusuf Islam indeed is a great person. But your role model should be the Prophet Muhammadh, peace be upon him.

but I always wonder what its like for a non muslim to find Islam

from the heart, love and God…Your music has awakened a light and
a peace within me and within many…In heaven, don’t the angels sing and
rejoice and give praise.??.In the interview you were almost afraid to sing again because of your new found beliefs , but one song can awaken many..

@carlosronaldorivaldo okay so that is why: On February 21, 1989, Yusuf Islam addressed students at Kingston University in London about his conversion to Islam and was asked about the controversy in the Muslim world and the fatwa calling for Salman Rushdie’s execution. He replied, “He must be killed. The Qur’an makes it clear – if someone defames the prophet, then he must die.” such a peaceful religion !
